TinMan Miniatures
By Tom Crandall (MiniatureReview.com)
You had mentioned that you were planning on doing a few more versions of the Horde Warrior. Are you going to do one with range weapons?
Yes. I am working on a version that will be armed with a rifle. Also, I want to make an officer type and maybe a spearman/standard bearer. It's hard to see from the angle of the photo but the Horde Warrior does have a pistol in a holster on his right hip.
Do you plan on making an evil humaniod character?
More or less. I'm working on a fig that I'm thinking will be an assassin when he's done. When that's finished I'd like to make a female version. But, you're right, I need an Antagonist.
Do you plan on making a ruleset to go with these figures?
I have a ruleset that I've been writing and playing for quite a while now. It is a card-initiated skirmish level game. When I first wrote it those kinds of games were rather rare but now they seem to be everywhere. I'm not so sure that the world needs another one.
What was your motivation for doing this miniature range?
I have wanted minis like these for myself for a long time and though other companies have made similar over the years, for various reasons, most have struck me as a "close, but no cigar" sort of effort.
How did you get into wargaming?
A friend was into playing sci-fi and fantasy wargames and I started out painting and converting minis for him and his gaming buddies. Eventually I got into gaming for myself. Some of my scratchbuilds and conversions caught the eye of one of the owners of Ral Partha and he basically pushed me to sculpt for them.
