So there is a new movie coming out this month called Predators.  Hopefully it will be good, but the odds of that are slim.  Still, the movie will probably make for a cool scenario or two. Khurasan Miniatures has the Vacation Alien to use as the bad guy.

For the Good guys I am thinking the Khurasan Miniatures resistance fighters in flack jackets might work.

parts and labour #2 Finger on the Fourth

Here's the first "official" issue to kick off "Parts -n- Labour". There will be a new issue every Friday. If I have more time, maybe more. Stick around, join the site or forum or leave a comment.

I should let you know that the views expressed in this comic do not necessarily reflect the views of miniaturereview.com. I mean, honestly, it's just a talking finger and a couple of robots. You shouldn't get that upset over stuff like that.

Blue Moon Manufacturing has been extremely busy with their new 15mm range.  So far it looks like they have designed roughly 15 walkers and 7 tanks for their initial release.  The vehicle range in price from $10-$15.  They also have a ton of troopers, including a few mounted.  The troopers price range runs about $6 for 10 figures.  The figures and vehicles are geared for a ruleset called Galactica Wars I.  These figures can be purchased at a 40% discount if you sign up for an Old Glory Army membership.

Names will be entered into a big hat, shaken around, and the winners should pop out.  What could you get? Some Batman, Frank Miller stuff, and Thor to name a few.

He's also putting together a weekly Web comic that will be released this weekend.  So, sequential fun is on the horizon.

Here are some more greens for Khurasan Miniatures spaceship crew.  I have to say they both look great.  The big guy has sort of a Hellboy look to him.

The first model is the First Officer, Katherine Kym, an exiled princess from the Khanate of Kym, a planet in the Zurioch Freehold. She carries a plasma shotgun.

The second model is Bhas, a Bubalid who serves as the ship's security officer. He's a bit over seven feet tall, wears a trenchcoat and has an MGL (which can fire grenades or heavy shotgun shells) and a lot of attitude!

Rebel Minis has some fun alien walkers to add to the 15mm Sci-Fi mix.  These have been out for quite some time, but I have to say they look pretty cool.

Spoke to John Robertson of Urban Mammoth about a new game being worked on called Age of Tyrants.  Here is a little description.

Age of Tyrants is a new 6mm sci-fi TTG set in the Dracona Alba Galaxy. It describes the conflict of the emerging super powers of Viridia, Junkers, Syntha and VASA as they build their respective colonial empires. This game will be scaled to battalion level combat, though lower levels can be played, and will feature new tanks, APCs and artillery as well as the more common troops found in Urban War.

The game system is nearing completion and work on the miniatures started 4 weeks back. We will start previewing these sometime in July.
The miniatures for this product line, like Warheads, are generated in the computer and then rapid prototyped for moulding and will be cast in white metal.
The initial range will feature a rulebook and 4 starter boxed sets (1 for each of the factions) then subsequent releases will be blistered sets that will allow you to upgrade and customize your forces.  Target date for release is November 2010.

Here are some shots of Micro Art Studio's Iron Brotherhood Stalker Tank MK I.  The Stalker was built for 28mm gaming, but as you can see, it works exceptionally well in the 15mm Sci-Fi would.  I was really surprised by the detail of this model.  It is also quite different and has both a robotic feel as well as an organic bug like feel.  It has a main gun on top and a smaller gun below the head.

Here is just a sample of his painting skills.

Antenocitis Workshop is coming out with a 6mm Dropship. To see more pictures check out their Word Press blog.

This is an assault dropship... flies in, drops a pod of infantry and Foxtrot-Oscars (as per FWC use). Relatively low on detail as its 6mm/ 1/285th scale... actual length is just shy of 3 inches long, max width around 1 inch. Will come with the drop-pod.   Hull and Pod to be resin-cast, engines and missile pod will be white meta.

Micro Art Studio has some fantastic resin bases for your 28mm gaming needs.  Below is just a sample of there current base range.  The Hive bases are extremely cool.  All the bases I received were excellent and would be perfect for Sci-Fi, Western or Pulp gaming.

In keeping with the Dino theme today, Jon from Khurasan Miniatures has a nice little set of 15mm scale deinonychus "raptor" dinosaurs.  As you can see, these raptors are the perfect 15mm or 28mm gaming.  They should be available in about a week or two.  Here is a cool website with comparisons of dinos vs humans.
